Long Time No See...

Well, it's been almost forever since I posted, so I figured that now was just as good a time as any to post an update on our family.

Things are going pretty well up here in the UP. Work at Michel's & Son's has picked up considerably these last couple of weeks, for which we are very thankful.

For those of you that don't know, we just discovered the other day that we will be having a baby boy. Now, to be honest, I looked at the ultrasound picture and I can't make head nor tail of it; I may as well be staring at a stereogram. That being said, I will say that I take both Jess' word, and the ultrasound tech's word for it.

Last week, Jessica and I went up to the Tori - finnish for outdoor market - in Hancock and peddled our home made wares...The weather was a bit crummy last wednesday, so the foot traffic wasn't as good as it usually is, so we didn't make as much money as we had hoped. Today, however, Jess' returned to the Tori with even more home made goodies and gave it another shot. Since the weather was better, there were a lot more shoppers and as a result, she made $21!!

That might not sound like a lot, but when you don't have a lot of variety, that $21 is pretty good. The Tori is every Wednesday and Saturday; and while we didn't go last Saturday, we are fully intending on going to it this Saturday.

While Jess' was at the Tori, I got to stay at home and baby sit the girls. Sam likes raspberries, so we went out and spent some time in the raspberry patch eating raspberrys... After that, we went and sat at their little picnic table. While we were sitting there, Sam got this bright idea that we should play happy birthday...

We didn't have any cake, but we did have some ice cream, so after I put Cynthia down for a nap, I got the ice cream and obliged Sam with a game of happy birthday. Check out the pics.

  1. Did you light a candle over the icecream? That is very cute that she wanted to play Happy Birthday!

  2. hehe...no, I didn't light a candle. If you look in that on pic, though, you'll see that I lit a fire... :) Although left unmentioned, that fire was by design. :)

It was kinda' funny how it all started. I was sitting there at that picnic table with both of them and she looked at me and said it's birthday today! We sang happy birthday then, and then after I put Cynthia to bed, we came back out and ate ice cream by the fire.

  3. Congratulations Chad!! Got any names for the new baby boy yet?

PS: Photos are gorgeous, my little 4 year-old daughter has a great imagination as well and we often play similar games. Funny how kids always manage to include icecream, chocolate or cakes in the games :)

  4. Woops! Hey, Rich! I didn't realize that you had commented... :)

The baby boy is going to be a junior and I'm going to be a sr... :)

I thought that it was quite cute myself, and since it was hot outside, I couldn't help but oblige. hehe
